I was first introduced to Irish Setters when I gave my husband a 6-week old setter for our first Valentine’s Day. He had always wanted one and I found an ad in the local newspaper. We knew our boy had to have a formal name to be registered so chose one based on our heritage since we both were from Kentucky. From that point on I was totally smitten with Woodford’s (my husband’s first name) Kentucky Baron.
When he left us, I tried to find another who looked like him but the ones I saw had no resemblance to my beautiful, dark coated, long muzzled Baron. I had moved to California and went to a local dog show where I fell in love with Pat Haigler’s lovely Ch. Rendition Patrick and bought one of his sons, my second Irish Setter, Rendition’s Kentucky Cody. In order to get him I had to promise to show him to his championship and that began a 30 year venture in the show ring which has led to Nationals, Westminster and AKC Eukanuba dog shows along the way.
Stardust Setters is located in North Hollywood, California. I have occasional litters, focusing mostly on show quality but I do have pets, as well.
My dogs and I are actively involved in conformation and have been in obedience and agility events. My stud dogs are available to approved bitches. It is my goal to produce sound, healthy, and excellent temperament Irish Setters that conform to the Irish Setter standard. All puppies are sold with health guarantees. As a member of the Irish Setter Club of America, I adhere to the Breeder's Code of Ethics.
